Shawn Moll Fired

I heard rumblings about this a few weeks ago, but apparently it's out in the open now that Shawn Moll was fired from She-Hulk. (I tried to do my bit to prevent it by diligently complimenting his work, which I like.) Moll commented elsewhere that he was told by Marvel brass that they want to improve sales numbers, so he's out.

I don't know enough about Marvel internal politics to guess at who would blame poor sales on Moll, but it's entirely wrong-headed. From where I'm sitting, Shawn Moll has been the only welcome change in the book since Dan Slott's departure. While his backgrounds occasionally seem a bit weak to me, he more than makes up for it with dynamic depiction of characters and action scenes. I think he's the best artist on a She-Hulk book in decades.

It's really a terrible shame and leaves me with no justification to continue buying She-Hulk - and I've been looking for reasons for months, now. I guess I'll just hold my breath and hope for a great replacement, though it's difficult to imagine a quality artist signing up given the flailing inconsistency of the storyline and the bottom-dwelling sales figures that are the hallmark of the Peter David run thus far.

So they replace him with Val

So they replace him with Val Semeiks? Not much of a change at all.

Have you seen a report that

Have you seen a report that Semeiks is the permanent replacement?

Shawn Moll/Val Semeiks

I still disagree with you that Shawn Moll is "the best artist on a She-Hulk book in decades". He's a good artist, and certainly the best element of the book right now, but I still think you're being too quick to dismiss many other artists who've worked on the title over the years.

Also: Val Semeiks is listed as the artist for the next few issues of She-Hulk both at marvel.com and on his official website.

Semeiks

I know he's listed as the artist for the next few issues, but I haven't seen a formal announcement that he is THE new long-term guy. Maybe Marvel doesn't want to commit to the book being around past the summer.
