She-Hulk Sensational #1

She-Hulk Sensational #1

She-Hulk Sensational #1 commemorates the 30th anniversary of the character. It's got fantastic, slightly humorous Gary Frank cover.

Inside the cover the issue itself leaves a lot to be desired. A mediocre new Peter David story, a cliche Marvel 'heroes fighting because of a misunderstanding' story by Brian Reed, and a reprint of an old John Byrne story.

You don't have to take my word, though. Check out the CBR review.

I guess it's nice Marvel did something for the anniversary, but it would have been better if it was interesting.

I decided not to take your word for it

And hey, big surprise: CBR actually liked my story.

Look, it's been several years now since you came to my website, acted like a jerk, got slapped around by everyone there, loudly announced that everyone had better be nice to you or else you would do everything you could to bitch about my work on the series. And when you were derided for your arrogance, you then did exactly that. You want to continue to peddle your personal grudge? Be my guest. But here's a hint: Don't claim that someone agrees with you and then link to their review when the review actually disagrees with you. Makes you look like a fool.

Bye.

PAD

Wow.

If you thought CBR's review was positive, you've got bigger issues than I imagined.

I don't give a crap about you. Seriously. When you do a good job, I'm happy to buy your product: I kept subscribing to X-Factor until just recently. But when you phone it in, don't expect people not to notice.

CBR actually DID like PAD's story.

..and so did I.

I was really looking forward to this One-Shot celebrating She-Hulk's 30th and when I heard that Peter David was collaborating with Jonboy Meyers on one of the stories, I was ecstatic.

I honestly don't think the issue was a let down.
Was it stellar? No.
Did She-Hulk deserve better? Yes, she deserves her own damn series that won't tank!

But the way I see it, at least Marvel gave her something to acknowledge her 30th anniversary.

Peter David's story had everything that a She-Hulk fan looks for in one of her stories. Her classic traits were there in spades. The crappy part is the fact that it had to be squeezed into this issue.

CBR nailed it with the Brian Reed story and the reprint space would have been better utilized for a new short story by either Dan Slott or John Byrne.

Although it's not going to be a memorable issue, but did thoroughly enjoy reading it.

Thanks Marvel, if anything.. at least it's the thought that counts.
