Juggernaut Sex

So why does Jen/She-Hulk not remember having sex with Juggernaut in UNCANNY X-MEN #435? My guess? Mutant Growth Hormone-laced Rohypnol.

Either that, or it was the Impossible Man in drag.

Skrulls...

...That's all I have to say...Skrulls.

Actually Dan already discounted that hypothesis but it still sounds good. I wouldn't want to be in Juggernaut's shoes if he had drugged her - Starfox already pulled something like that one She-Hulk once, and I doubt she would be in any sort of mood to have it happen twice. I guess we'll just have to wait until #21 to find out the truth.

Impossible Man in drag? Now there's an image...

Space Phantom!

Maybe it was the Space Phantom!

Skrulls did it.

Guess you didn't get the memo yet.

"Skrulls did it." is the new reset button.

I don't believe it was Skrulls

Why would a Skrull want to bang the Juggernaut? Also, not for nothing but a Skrull could LOOK like She-Hulk but would not actually have her powers, and in this case some degree of invulnerability would be a strict necessity. (They don't call the Juggernaut "unstoppable" for nothing, you know.)

I'm sticking with my Impossible Man guess.

I know who you slept with last summer

personally, I am MORE upset that she boned Shell Head than Juggie. He's her boss, and she's a lawyer, and she would know it's a conflict of interest. It was a lame plot device to have her "sleep with the enemy". Why didn't they do the nasty back when they were Avengers? Why would a Skrull sleep with Juggie? To get info, Mata Hari style. Men let lots of secrets out when they have sex with someone (pillow talk), and women operatives bed Senetors, Politburo members, kings, etc to get what they want or get info. Sadly, I think Skrulls are the new "clones" (remember the clone saga of the 90's UGH!)

Yeah, but JUGGERNAUT?

What secrets could Juggernaut possibly have? "Where'd you hide the crimson gem of Cyttorak?" Like he's gonna tell anybody THAT.

Parallel Earth!?

So I just got around to reading Slott's last issue - #21 - and I didn't really care for it. The explanation for why She-Hulk slept with Juggernaut (it was a parallel Earth She-Hulk) kind of sucked.

Although...

Other people seem to think it was a great explanation.

Not horrible

I didn't think Dan's explanation of using Earth-A was terrible. I vaguely recall Earth-A from earlier on in from the Fantastic Four and thought this was kind of a neat continuity thing to utilize the concept again.

On the other hand the story as a whole felt a little "gimmicky" to me and didn't seem to fit in with the rest of the book, story-wise. I did not care for the way in which Jen regained her powers...I was hoping for a resolution that would come out of the events around Civil War, Initiative, and WWH, rather than this out-of-left-field cellular realignment stuff. I think this particular story would have worked out better if it had been told earlier on in the run as a one-off before the events of #20. Perhaps Dan could have used that issue to find a more organic way of giving Jen her powers back, or perhaps even leaving it up to PAD.

Well...

As long as he was taking this approach, I would have preferred the explanation that Marvel Comics writers occasionally switched places with their counterparts from parallel worlds, thus resulting in confused continuity.

Also, the problem with the nanobots as a plot device is that, from what we know, nanobots would only remain in the bloodstream for awhile before a body's natural defenses eliminated them. So they would gradually lose effect as their numbers diminished.
