One of the more interesting remarks from Peter David following the announcement that he'd be taking over She-Hulk was this line, from his Newsarama interview:
PAD: She-Hulk has the potential to be our Wonder Woman. A powerful female with a strong moral center and a determination to do what's right. She's also a unique combination of brains and brawn. The ideal She-Hulk story is one that plays on both aspects of her make-up, the intelligence combined with her strength.
Peter David's thoughts have been picked up on and discussed at length over at the DC Comics boards, including this memorable post:
If anything, we should be talking about how Wondy can be DC's She-Hulk.
Diana is now an incompetent moron who seems unconcerned with saving lives or bettering the world in any way.
She-Hulk is smart, vibrant, powerful, capable, and admirable.
I wish the modern Wondy was one tenth the hero - and person - that Shulkie is. I'm hoping Gail Simone makes it happen.
